Parents Teach Faith!
Sunday morning at Channing is only a tiny fraction of what teaches us to be Unitarian Universalists. Most faith development happens at home, at school, at work, with friends, and in the choices we make about life.
How can we support you - as parents- as you guide your children in faith development? You will find resource pages here on the website on parenting, social action, events, and more! Make Unitarian Universalism your full week faith! |

Interested in Safety Policy at Channing?
We are currently working on a congregation wide Safety Policy. Contact the Director of Religious Education to be involved!
Safety
Every effort is made to ensure the safety of Channing's children. All Religious Education volunteers must undergo a criminal background check and sign a Code of Ethics for Working With Children and Youth before leading our children as teachers, mentors or chaperones. Religious Education events and childcare have two leaders in each group.
After each Sunday morning class, a parent or approved caregiver must sign out each child 5th grade and under. Parents are responsible for their children after signing them out from Religious Education classes, in Fellowship, in the Playground and on church property. Please help guide children to be respectful and safe. The entire community is teaching our children and youth through our care, attitude and actions.
Our classes create behavioral covenants together, reinforcing our relationships and responsibility to act in a caring manner towards each other. The diversity of people in our congregation is celebrated and honored. We strive to create the safest possible environment for our children to learn and grow.
In the event of a fire, teachers will bring the children and youth to the flagpole in the Elks Club parking lot. Parents should not go to classrooms, but go to the muster point. Parents will then let the teacher know once they have reconnected with their children.
